Brad Cohen is a physician, public servant, and longtime community leader who has dedicated his career to improving lives — both in the exam room and in public office.
Since 2017, Brad has served as Mayor of East Brunswick, where he has focused on responsible fiscal management, smart growth, and inclusive community development. Municipal taxes have remained stable, with no increase exceeding 1% over the past 9 years. He established a local Redevelopment Agency to revitalize the township's commercial corridor, address affordable housing needs, and reinvest in underutilized properties — bringing new energy and opportunity to the community while keeping costs in check for residents. He has also worked to grow community programming, support small businesses, and ensure local government reflects and serves East Brunswick's diverse population.
As a practicing physician and surgeon with St. Peter's Physicians Group, Brad sees firsthand what's at stake in our healthcare system. He is running to stop Donald Trump and his allies from gutting healthcare, rolling back protections for people with pre-existing conditions, and putting insurance company profits ahead of patients. Brad believes healthcare is a right, not a privilege, and brings a doctor's perspective to the fight for accessible, affordable care.
Brad is also committed to ending the ongoing assault on our democracy, defending the rule of law, and ensuring that every voter's voice is heard. He believes leadership means telling the truth, rejecting extremism, and standing up, even when it's hard. for the values that define our country.
Brad served on the East Brunswick Board of Education from 2010 to 2016, including as Board President, helping hire a new superintendent, implementing a structured evaluation process for administrators, and overseeing a period in which the district earned a Top 7 Best Public School ranking from Niche.com. He holds an M.D. from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, an M.B.A. from Rutgers Business School, and a B.S. from Muhlenberg College.
A lifelong New Jersey resident, Brad Cohen is running for Congress to bring integrity back to Washington, solve the affordability crisis, protect healthcare, and defend our democracy, because standing up for what's right should never be optional.
